These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the TEKS Navigator website and service (the “Service”). The Service is provided by TEKS Navigator (“TEKS Navigator”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). When you use the Service or make a purchase, you are contracting with TEKS Navigator.
By creating an account, making a purchase, or otherwise continuing to use the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
TEKS Navigator helps educators find where Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) are addressed in supported curriculum programs. It shows module, unit, topic and lesson references taken from published alignment documents, with links to official sources where available. It does not reproduce curriculum lessons. Access to linked resources is governed by each publisher’s or agency’s own terms.
The Service offers a free plan with a monthly allowance of standard lookups and paid plans (such as Educator Pro and the Founding Pass) with additional features. Current plan features and prices are shown on our pricing page.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. If you use the Service on behalf of a school, district or other organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- engage in fraud, send spam, or impersonate any person or organization;
- infringe or misappropriate the intellectual property or other rights of TEKS Navigator or any third party;
- interfere with the security or operation of the Service, including by introducing malware, probing or scanning for vulnerabilities, or bypassing access controls or plan limits;
- scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically extract data from the Service, or use automated means to access it, except as we expressly permit;
- reverse engineer the Service, or resell, sublicense or redistribute it or its data;
- share a single paid account among multiple people;
- enter student names, IDs, or other student-level personal information into the Service.
4. Intellectual property and licence
TEKS Navigator owns the Service and all related intellectual property, including the software, design, compiled reference data, documentation and the TEKS Navigator name and branding. Subject to these Terms and your plan, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your own instructional planning.
Curriculum names, lesson titles and alignment information belong to their respective owners and are shown for reference with attribution (see “Attribution” below). Content you create, such as saved collections and notes, remains yours; you grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely to provide the Service to you.
5. Accuracy of references
References are taken from published alignment documents and may contain errors present in those documents. Please confirm references in your adopted materials before relying on them. A missing reference does not mean a curriculum fails to address a standard.
6. Payments, subscriptions and taxes
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, taxes, subscription renewal and cancellation are governed by Paddle’s Buyer Terms. In summary: Educator Pro is billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and renews automatically until cancelled; the Founding Pass is a one-time payment for the access period described at purchase. Prices are shown before checkout, and applicable sales tax is calculated and collected by Paddle. You can cancel a subscription at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
Refunds are available as described in our Refund Policy.
7. Service availability
We work to keep the Service reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. We may change, add or remove features, or carry out maintenance, from time to time.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
- you materially breach these Terms;
- payment for your plan fails or is not made;
- your use creates a security, fraud or legal risk for us or others; or
- you repeatedly or seriously violate our acceptable-use rules.
You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time by contacting us. When your account ends, your access stops and your saved collections and notes are deleted within a reasonable period, except where we must keep information to meet legal obligations.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TEKS Navigator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify TEKS Navigator against claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms.
12. Independence
TEKS Navigator is an independent curriculum reference tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of the Texas Education Agency or any curriculum publisher. Curriculum names are trademarks of their respective owners.
13. Attribution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas.
